Bored  in Chemistry?  Try making the Atomic Board Game

       CHEM

Your first task is to break up into groups of 3 people.  You must read the rules below and decide how your group wants to split up the work.  In order to be successful, you must help each other out and actively participate in your group.  Grading rubric

If you have problems please see me – the  Nucleus

1. WHAT'S THE GAME PLAN? Ideas for games can come from class, your textbook, the videos we looked at, or internet.  Write down a list of vocabulary, labs, and  activities. Then pick out one thing as the game idea. Next, think of an OBJECT for the game--this tells players what they have to do to win.

2. WRITE DOWN THE RULES! Write down a few basic rules that you will need to play the game: how to get started, how to move, how the game ends, special rules and so on. These rules will change as the game is tested by playing it with other people.

3. MAKE THE BOARD !   I have supplied your group with a blank board, dice and moving pieces.  The IDEA is the most important thing. The game that PLAYS the best  is better than the game that LOOKS the best.

4. PLAY TEST! Playing a game many times will tell you what rules work, what people like about the game and what might have to change.

I don’t have any extra boards so don’t mess up.  I suggest you plan out your game on a piece of paper before you start drawing on the game board I provided your group.

Good luck, have fun, and learn !  Tonya Marx, Get Set, GROW.
