When things are going well, the bats are hot, pitching is hot, defense is goodÉ
In other words "when you're hot, you're hot", as Jerry Reed would say. Those
words describe the play of the Chaseburg Coon Valley Blues over the past couple
of weeks. Coming off last weekends play where the Blues won 4 of 4, they have
continued hot. Starting with the July 4th doubleheader split with Winona, CCV
has won 5 out of 6 including a 7-1 MVL win over the Black River Falls Mudcats on
Sunday. The Blues got another strong starting pitching performance from Evan
Burr and relief help from Mike Tolvstad. Both combined to hold BRF to 3 hits.
Offensively, CCV picked up 14 hits off Mudcats pitching. Leading the way were
Adam Wershofen 4-6, (2b, 3b), Josh Schultz 4-5 (2b, 3b), Andy Tolvstad 2-5.
