| Last Friday, one of the Blues players said, "We never feel that we are out of a game." That statement proved prophetic on Tuesday night at "The Park" when CCV overcame a 7-1 deficit to defeat Sparta Miller 11-7 in an NBC District Tournament game. The Miller's scored 4 in the first off Blues starter Zach Rickaway and then 3 more in the 2nd off reliever Ryan Fahey to put the Blues in a7-1 hole. The comeback started in the top of the third as CCV scored 2 runs and continued with Andy Russell taking the mound for the Blues in the bottom of the third. Russell turned in another outstanding relief performance, pitching the remaining 5innings, giving up 1 hit and picking up the win, his 2nd of the season. Adam Husing's 2 out double in the 6th put CCV ahead for good 8-7. Matt Hoff provided some insurance runs with a hr in the 7th. |
