I don't normally get a lot of time to play games on my computer, but when I do, I like role playing and strategy games the most. The game I play most now is Galactic Civilizations II. It took me a while to warm up to the game after playing classics like Master of Orion, but I really enjoy playing Galactic Civilizations now and find myself spending just a bit too much time with it sometimes. I generally try to win an influence or diplomatic victory.
My current old favorite is Heroes of Might III. I still have it loaded on my computer and plan to get the latest relese of Heroes sometimes soon (please write if you have an opinion about it). I do have a lot of other games in these two genres. Another old favorite of mine is Darklands (an ill fated game from Microprose). Of course, who could forget Civilization (the second version of which is still loaded on my computer) and Master of Orion. Roller Coaster Tycoon also deserves a special mention because it's high on entertainment value.
There have been a few adventure games in my life. I've enjoyed playing Grim Fandango in the past. Another adventure game I really liked was Toon Struck. Not only was Toon Struck an interesting game, but I found I got a lot of good laughs from it as well.
Simulations and I have had one or two meetings as well. I liked M1 Tank Platoon and F19 Stealth Fighter. I find, however, that most simulations test my finger strength a little too much and I lose interest after a while. I still have these old games in my library, but I doubt they'll see much use anytime soon.
