“How to…” copy and insert graphs from graphing calculator into Netscape Composer

These are the steps to follow to insert a graph into your web page.

1)     Get either a gray or black graph link and attach it to "COM2" in the back of the computer

2)     Insert  the link cord into the bottom of the graphing calculator

3)     Go to either the MS Mathematics folder or the Winlink folder on the desktop, double click on the folder.  Find the TI-Graph Link icon that matches your calculator and double click on it.

4)     When it opens, go up to the Link menu on the tool bar.  Go down to "COM2". This tells the computer where the link is located.  Go to Link and go down to cable type.  You will get a side menu stating whether you want the black or gray cable.  Choose the colored cable that you have.

5)     To make a copy of the graph on the calculator, go up to Link again, and down to Get Screen.  Click on the Get Screen button and the graph on your calculator will appear.

6)     To save your graph, click on the Save button.  Name the file with a name you can remember and then put a .(dot) with the tif extension.  Click the OK button.

7)     Minimize the graph link software and open Word. To insert your graph into a word document, go up to the Insert menu tool bar, click and hold, and go down to picture and over to From File.  Locate the folder where you saved the file and double click on the graph file you want.

8)     To put it in a Netscape Composer file, copy and paste it into your file from Word.
