College and Missions Scholarships Policies "Partners In Trust" Horsemanship Insentive Program This
program is designed to inspire
members to build solid working relationships
with their horses by encouraging them to spend adequate time to do so, thus building trust between horse and handler. It is also designed to give recognition to those who invest their time and knowledge to train horses and to create a trusting partnerships with them. THE RULES 1. Participants must be current CRYW, Inc. members. Memberships run from January 1 to December 31. 2. A Partnership will consist of one horse and one handler. 3. The Partners in Trust Program runs from April 15 to September 15. 4. The enrollment/registration application, and a donation of $5.00 for each partnership, must be submitted to Christian Ranchers - Youth of Wisconsin, Inc. prior to recording hours. 5. Participants do not have to own the horse they are using in this program. 6. Time may be recorded for any non-show, or competition-related activities in which a member participates by working the horse in hand or riding or driving. This may include halter classes and halter training, early ground work in hand, parades, drill teams, therapeutic riding, trail riding and lessons. 7. A separate official log sheet must be maintained for each horse enrolled in the program. All time is figured on a one horse- one handler basis and is upheld by the honor system. 8. Minors must have an adult sponsor who will over see and initial time logs. The sponsor may be a parent, guardian, adult friend or instructor. Members may have more than one sponsor. 9. Participants must maintain a diary in which to record the work and progress done on each day they log time with their horse partner. 10. Actual time spent working in hand, riding or driving shall be kept in full and one-half hour increments (i.e. 2.5 hours). 11. Please, number all your time logs and keep them in numerical order. 12. Recognition levels are 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 hours. Gift certificates from sponsors of the program will be issued at $10.00 for each 20 hour milestone.
