~2009 Listing~
Your Source for QUALITY Hostas, Daylilies & Peonies
2009
Again this year we are pleased to offer for your consideration over 380 quality hosta cultivars, including several which are new to our catalog. Additionally, we have well over 200 daylily varieties, with a good number of exceptional newer introductions which we have thoroughly tested. As usual, we also have a full page of top quality designer peonies of exceptional garden worth. These include a few of the intersectional types which are taking the gardening world by storm.
Everything we list in this catalog has been grown and thoroughly tested on our farm. Each year we test dozens of new cultivars for their garden worth, and each year we discard many which simply do not perform well (or survive) here in our Zone 4 site. Anything we offer for your consideration needs to grow well here with little or no fuss and have a distinctive garden presence.
As we compile the files for this 2009 catalog, the first real snow of the season has blanketed the ground, giving the plants (and us) a time to rest a bit from the matters of digging, planting, mulching and all the other matters inherent with nursery production. We are the more mindful, as we step back from the whirlwind of activity, how much we appreciate you, our customers, for your confidence in our stock through the years. The many friendships we have made along the way add to the enjoyment. Thank you!
This year we are pleased to introduce our new hosta, INVOCATION. A personal favorite, we finally have enough of this white bordered gold to list. Thank you for your many orders and kind words about last years introduction of PLEASURE SEEKER, as well as the ever popular JOTUNHEIM, JURASSIC PARK, GLAD RAGS and EXTROVERT to name a few. More are in the works!
Our Frostline Daylily site daylilylink.com will contain the bulk of our newer daylily introductions. We plan 5 or 6 new registrations for 2009 and invite you to take a look at them on our separate site. They are all northern acclimated and have performed beautifully for us. We will continue, at least for this season, to list a few of our previous daylily introductions in this catalog. These are pictured on our regular hostalink.com site. We appreciate the many orders each year for our past registrations of CALLIGRAPHY, SABLE SONG and SHADOW MASTER to name a few.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our listings. Late evening calls work best, and email is always welcome.

ORDERING!
Since we are located in Wisconsin, we make no attempt to compete with more southern nurseries which can ship plants in very early spring. Our plants quickly catch up and usually surpass southern plants by the end of the season with none of the pouting for which southern grown plants are so famous. Depending on our weather conditions we begin shipping about the middle of May. Straight hosta orders are shipped first. Orders containing daylilies require 2-3 more weeks, at minimum, to reach shipping stage. Early orders from southern states are given priority. Since we ship only freshly dug stock, we are at the mercy of weather conditions, and cannot guarantee exact shipping/delivery dates, but we do our best to meet necessitated date requests. Your patience on spring orders is both necessary and appreciated.
We guarantee our plants to be true to name and in good condition upon arrival. We are not, however, responsible for overwintering losses, lack of water or other conditions beyond our control. If you are ever dissatisfied in any way with the plants you receive, simply return them within 7 days with the original labels and we will refund both the cost of the plants and postage.
Contacting Us
Emails are the best means of communication for us. But if you do have questions about order status, shipping, farm visits, plant suggestions and wholesale and lack email capabilities, please call either well after dark or between 6:00-6:30 am (CST). We are glad for your calls, but they must, of necessity, fall within these parameters. Phone: 608-734-3178. Calls during daylight hours will almost always prove unproductive. If the weather is nice, we are outdoors!!
Best wishes for 2009!
