~2011 Listing~
Your Source for QUALITY Hostas, Daylilies & Peonies
As one reflects back, it hardly seems possible that the enjoyment of growing plants led to the first small mailed listing nearly 25 years ago. Somewhere along the line one stops to look back and recognize how quickly life passes by. Thankfully, the Lord has blessed through the years, given good health, good friends and family, a fine church and many material blessings. When the first plant list was sent out, little did we realize that this would lead to a thriving (as well as labor intense and time consuming) business.
While the plant business leaves little spare time from spring through fall, it has also afforded wonderful venues for many new and appreciated friendships all throughout the country. As we prepare this new catalog, Christmas has just passed by, affording the opportunity not only to be with family and friends, but also to hear from many of our plant minded friends across the country.
As snow covers the Wisconsin landscape one enjoys some longer, more restful evenings indoors, but also looks forward to spring with the hostas unfurling to their glory, peonies wafting their fragrance across the nursery rows, and the promise of an acre of daylilies in summer bloom.
We await with anticipation the maturing hosta seedlings which we have selected for observation, as well as a couple thousand more daylily seedlings for evaluation. It is rather like having Christmas all summer long!
Thank you for your trust and investment in our NGP Hosta and Daylily introductions! We have fairly good stock on our new introductions and our fail-safe guarantee continues in force on these. Check our our newer Frostline Daylily introductions at our separate online site www.daylilylink.com.
We also offer another Hosta introduction which we have been increasing for several years: ALLITERATION. This new hosta is both absolutely unique in expression and a choice garden presence.
Everything we offer is field grown; hence we do not have potted plants available for instant pick up. Accordingly, we do not have regular hours as such here on the farm and are not set up for drop-in visits. HOWEVER, we can often arrange for orders to be picked up and for visits on Saturdays. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our listings. Late evening calls work best as we are not near the phone in daylight hours. Your emails are always most welcome. ORDERING!
Since we are located in Wisconsin, we make no attempt to compete with more southern nurseries which can ship plants in very early spring. Our plants quickly catch up and usually surpass southern plants by the end of the season with none of the pouting for which southern grown plants are so famous. Depending on our weather conditions we begin shipping about the middle of May. Straight hosta orders are shipped first. Orders containing daylilies require 2-3 more weeks, at minimum, to reach shipping stage. Early orders from southern states are given priority. Since we ship only freshly dug stock, we are at the mercy of weather conditions, and cannot guarantee exact shipping/delivery dates, but we do our best to meet necessitated date requests. Your patience on spring orders is both necessary and appreciated.
We guarantee our plants to be true to name and in good condition upon arrival. We are not, however, responsible for overwintering losses, lack of water or other conditions beyond our control. If you are ever dissatisfied in any way with the plants you receive, simply return them within 7 days with the original labels and we will refund both the cost of the plants and postage.
Contacting Us
Emails are the best means of communication for us. But if you do have questions about order status, shipping, farm visits, plant suggestions and wholesale and lack email capabilities, please call either well after dark or between 6:00-6:30 am (CST). We are glad for your calls, but they must, of necessity, fall within these parameters. Phone: 608-734-3178. Calls during daylight hours will almost always prove unproductive. If the weather is nice, we are outdoors!!
Best wishes for 2011!
