'Shazmataz'

'Shazmataz'

(Janice Brown X Barbara Mitchell)

From its maiden bloom, this daylily has consistently performed beautifully for us. It has lots of fine things going for it--beautiful color and form, good bud count, total plant proportion, hardiness, great vigor and late season bloom.

This dormant, mid-to-late-season bloomer has appealing color in clean, rich pink tones, reflecting its parentage. Sizewise 'Shazmataz' is about 4.5", with broad bloom segments. The flowers are very nicely ruffled, opening readily in the cool mornings of late summer. The picture above gives a very good idea of the flower. Color and ruffling are clearly evident.

Scape height is about 28" with adequate branching to support up to 30 buds. The bloom period is prolonged, from mid to late season. 'Shazmataz' establishes and increases readily, quickly forming perfectly proportioned clumps with a dozen bloomscapes.

For the hybridizer, 'Shazmataz' is a super parent for pinks, lavenders and purples. We also have some beautiful picotee edges coming on its children. Fertility is extreme, with pods setting readily.

We guarantee you will like this beautiful pink. Nice double divisions.
