Pastoral Paragraph: This weekend we welcome through baptism McKinley Rae Stenslien, the

daughter of Steven and Heather (Woodhouse) Stenslien.  Blessings to McKinley and her family as

we warmly welcome her into our faith community.  Congratulations to mom and dad and

grandparents!

Another reminder for planning purposes, during the 4:00 and 10:00 Masses on

February 11 & 12 we will have the administration of the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

This sacrament is open to anyone with acute or chronic illness or infirmities due to disabilities or

age.  Please plan on attending and bring neighbors and loved ones to Mass on that weekend to

receive the benefit of this Sacrament.  This celebration coincides with the World Day of Prayer for

the Sick celebrated each year near the feast-day of Our Lady of Lourdes (February 11).

This is the start of Catholic Schools week.  Many activities have been planned throughout

the week to help celebrate our school.  A schedule is printed on the back of the bulletin.

On Friday we’ll have the school liturgy at 10:00 am followed by a talent show and the community

luncheon.  If possible, please plan to attend with the kids and celebrate with them.  There will be

an early release after lunch on Friday.  The children will sing and participate in the 4:00 Mass

next Saturday (before the chili supper).

Congratulations to our winners of the St. Charles Spelling Bee held this past Friday.  The

competition is part of Aquinas Catholic Schools’ observance of Catholic Schools Week.  The five top

spellers from grades 4, 5, and 6 will compete with the other representative from grades 4, 5, and 6

from the other Catholic Schools at Valley View Mall next Friday.  Our top five spellers and

representatives to the Mall event are: Stephan Pedretti, Gracie Malin, Morgan Woodhouse,

Jenna Trussoni and Rachel Gianoli.  And the St. Charles Top Speller was 8th grader

Christian Gilman!  We had to go through several rounds and 81 words to come up with a winner!

Again, congratulations to all of our students

for very good work!

May all of you and your families have a most blessed week.
