Please join us for the PTO Spaghetti Supper next Saturday, October 15 from 5:00-7:30 PM. It will be an enjoyable evening promising good food, fun and activity! The parish PTO group has been doing a tremendous job in supporting our school and we’re grateful for their dedication and good work!
On Sunday October 23 Pope Benedict XVI will canonize as a saint, Blessed Father Luigi Guanella. Father Guanella is from the Campodolcino area of Italy which is the area from where many of our founding families and settlers immigrated many years ago. This past August several of our parish members went to a family reunion in Campodolcino and returned with the gift of a painting of St. Guanella for us. On October 23 we want to join in a particular way with the joy of the universal church as Father Guanella is canonized. We’ll have a special blessing of the painting of St. Guanella at the 10:00 Mass followed by a desert reception in the gym. (Last week I incorrectly said it was “lunch” and in reality it will be “goodies” and coffee.) Of course, everyone is invited and urged to attend - you don’t need to be on the Guanella family tree to participate! For more information please contact Bill Trussoni or Gary Venner.
Our next Religious Education Class (CCD) is scheduled for Wednesday evening October 19 from 6:45 – 8:25 PM.
This week’s Catholic Times featured the Diocesan Annual Appeal that is being conducted during October. I hope you had a chance to review this important information. You will soon be receiving your individual pledge/gift information in the mail. Deacon Richard

Bishop Rickens of the Diocese of Green Bay On Friday, October 14th, a movie worth seeing will make its debut at Marcus Cinema 11 in La Crosse. The Greatest Miracle is a 3D animated film on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Made by some of the creative talent behind films like Hercules, Spider Man and Ice Age, The Greatest Miracle tells the story of three strangers whose lives intersect one morning at Mass. There, each person meets their guardian angel and is blessed to see the world through spiritual eyes and take full account of their blessings. The film brings the spiritual truth behind the miracle of the Eucharist to life in 3D!
