Steve & Ina Brosinski Fire Fund & Benefit Fundraiser:  Mark your calendars!  A benefit for the Steve & Ina Brosinski family will be held on Saturday, January 19^, 2008 at the Stoddard Legion beginning at 2 PM.  More detailed information will follow.  Raffle tickets will be available shortly.  If you are interested in raffle tickets to sell or have any fundraiser questions, you can contact Kathy Tully at 689-3859 or Cheryl Trussoni 689-2147.  There also continues to be the Community fund set up at the Genoa State Bank, Box 9, Genoa, WI. 54632

Diocese Annual Appeal:  Fifty (50) pledges/gifts totaling $9,653 have been received as of November 14.  The Diocese Annual Appeal is completely unrelated to the We Belong to Christ Capital campaign pledge cards we had earlier in the year.   An explanatory letter for this Diocesan Annual Appeal with brochure and pledge card was mailed Monday, October 1^st, to each parishioner.  Our target goal is reduced this year to $7,769 because St Charles has a Catholic School.  However, any amounts exceeding the target are fully rebated back to the Parish.  Last year these rebates totaled over $5000, helping meet parish expenses.  Thus, we again need pledges/gifts to significantly exceed the diocese target goal.  We hope to conclude this pledge campaign prior to Advent.  We ask you to pray over your decision.  Stewardship is a matter between you and God.

1st Annual St Charles Parish Steak Fry & Fellowship/Holiday Party  Our Parish is holding a Fundraiser and Holiday/Fellowship night at the Retreat Sportsman Club, Saturday, December 1^.  The Steak Fry will run from 5 to 8 PM, followed by a live auction including a Fishing Boat, Tools, Crafts, Homemade Pies, and Antiques.  Also a silent auction, gun raffle, Live Music, other activities and refreshments continue to midnight.  Dinner Tickets are $10 and are good for a $100 drawing at 10:30 pm (must be present to win).   Auction items are needed such as baked goods, antiques, crafts, theme baskets, new tools, hunting items, etc.  No white elephant items please.  To reduce re-handling, please bring the donated auction items directly to the Retreat Sportsman Club beginning early Friday afternoon and all day Saturday, December 1.  The Parish Council is holding a final planning meeting Monday November 26 at 7:30 PM. Volunteer Sign-Up Sheets are in the Vestibule – please volunteer a few hours either that Friday or Saturday.  Advance Tickets money should now be turned in so we can better estimate the food requirements, but continue selling Advance Tickets to the surrounding Community, Alumni, friends and relatives.  Tickets can also be purchased at the door.

Christmas Decoration/Wreath Sale:  Thank you to everyone for a successful Christmas Decoration/Wreath sale.  The sale contributed $1,390 towards the St. Charles 7^th & 8^th grade Art trip and Retreat to be held in the spring of 2008.  Wreaths and Other Items will be ready for pick up after Mass December 1 & 2^nd.

Cemetery Memorial for Father Schulte:  The Cemetery Committee is soliciting donations for a Memorial to Father Schulte.  A beautiful Memorial Stone & Carving has been ordered for installation in the Spring at a cost of $9,000 and will add to the beauty and sacredness of the Cemetery.  Donations can be mailed to the parish or included in the collection basket identified as for the Memorial.  Total donations to-date:  $4280.  Any donations in excess of $9,000 will be used for perpetual care. 

RCIA Candidates:  Anyone interested in fully joining the Catholic Church (Baptism, and/or Confirmation), please contact Father Roy at the rectory.

Adopt A Door Program:  Thanks to all who donated to the Adopt a Door Program.  The classroom doors are in and look beautiful.  Next, we would like to replace the three bathroom doors.  Because of the type of closure they have, the cost will be $900 each.  Anyone interested in helping out can contact Lori George at 608-648-2024.  These doors are scheduled to be installed just after the first of the year.

St. Charles School Thanksgiving Lunch will be Monday, November 19^th (11:30 AM) and parents, grandparents, family and friends are invited to eat with the students – please RSVP for lunch count.
