CCD/Confirmation Classes this Week:   Classes continue this Wednesday, March 5 at 6:45 PM at the school.

Lent:  Lent is a call for further conversion to holiness, a turning back to the Lord with whole-heartedness, prayer, alms/good deeds, and fasting, a time of reflecting on Jesus’ death and resurrection, as we prepare to renew our baptismal promises to reject sin and profess our faith on Easter Sunday.

Offering of the Cup, the Blood of Christ, at Weekend Masses:  Many Parishes offer both the Eucharist Host and the Cup at Communion. The Eucharistic Minister offers the Cup stating:  The Blood of Christ and the person carefully takes and returns the Cup responding “Amen.”  The priest is required to participate in both, but it is optional for the other Mass attendees.  Certain mandatory Words of the Mass at Consecration encourage offering the Cup:  “Take this, all of you, and drink from it: this is the cup of my blood…”  Also, one of the four responses to “Let us proclaim the mystery of faith” is as follows:  When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, Lord Jesus, until you come in glory.

Volunteers Needed to Help with Snow Removal  Steve Woodhouse and Dennis Berra have been handling snow removal for many years around the Church and Rectory, keeping the ramp and sidewalks safely salted/sanded.  They continue to do a marvelous job.  This winter has been unusually harsh, and also, Steve is scheduled to have surgery on both knees in the spring.  Thus, some assistance is needed.  Anyone physically able to handle the snow blower, shovel, and salt bucket, please call Steve when the next storm arrives.
