St Charles Parish Will Assist in Filming of Two TV Masses with Bishop Listecki as Celebrant this Tuesday May 5^th at the Diocese Center beginning at 6:45 PM and completed by 8:15 PM.   Ellen will arrange the music cantors.  Parishioners are needed to volunteer as Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Servers, and gift bearers, and be part of the congregation of at least 12 people - please call Frex at 457-2151.  We made a good impression as a parish last year, and this year it is an honor to participate with Bishop Listecki as celebrant.    

Note: This Tuesday May 5 the 9:00 AM School Mass includes a May Crowning of Mother Mary.   All are welcome.

Confirmation is this Wednesday May 6 at 7:00 PM at the Cathedral at 7PM.  Mandatory practice for the candidates and sponsors is this Monday, May 4^th at the Cathedral at 7 PM.  Please keep our 13 Confirmation Candidates in your prayers:  Kasey Ballwahn, Drake Helgeson, Taylour Helgeson, Tyler Malin, Maggie Nickelotti, Brian Paulsrud, Anthony and Josh Urbanek, Katie Urbanek, Misha Smythe, Alex Strasser, Camille Tully, and Anthony Wiltinger.

CCD/Confirmation Classes are Completed for the Year.  Many Thanks to Jayne Balhwahn and the Teachers:  Jenna Malin & Jordan Nickelatti (G/1-2), Terri Urbanek & Cindi Gehde (G/3-4), Sue Fladhammer (G/5-6), Jackie Helgeson (G/7-8), and Jeff Pedretti (Confirmation Class).

Needed: School Cleaning Volunteer/Volunteers.  We are seeking a volunteer or volunteers to clean the school.  Diane Siler has done a wonderful job for the last two years, and has saved the parish this expense.  This job requires dedication to a daily/weekly schedule during the school year, and an awareness of when the school building will be hosting an event (i.e fundraisers, or the occasional summer event i.e 4^th of July).  If able and willing to do this or do it with someone jointly, please call Fr Roy at the rectory 689-2646.  

Adult Inquiry Class for Anyone Wanting to Join or Rejoin the Catholic Church or With Questions about the Eucharist after Divorce, Annulments, or Blessing of Non Church Marriages, please come Wednesday May 20 to the Rectory with Fr Roy at 7 PM.

Precepts of the Catholic Church (from Catechism Paragraphs 2042-43):

“You shall attend Mass on Sundays and holy days of obligation”;

“You shall confess your sins at least once a year”

“You shall humbly receive your Creator in Holy Communion at least during the Easter season”;

“You shall observe the prescribed days of fasting and abstinence”.

PTO 52-Calendar Raffle Reminder:  It’s that time of the year again!  St. Charles PTO has raffle tickets with a chance to win for 52 days straight.  Drawings begin July 4 and end August 24.  You have a chance at winning $25, $100, or $1,000.  Only 250 tickets are available - all tickets eligible for each day’s drawing.  Tickets are $20 and may be purchased from a St. Charles School family, contacting St. Charles school office (689-2642), Lori George (648-2024), OR Lisa Moore (689-2866).  St. Charles PTO appreciates your support – winners published weekly.

St John’s Bible Art Exhibit April 28 – May 8  with free viewing at the La Crosse Main Library 2^nd floor gallery, 800 Main Street, from 9 AM to 9 PM Monday –Thursday, and to 5 PM on Friday – Saturday, and 1 PM to 5 PM on Sundays.  Fr Mark Pierce and Mary Ann Baird will give presentations on Thursday April 30, 6:30 – 8:30 PM.
