St. Boniface Catholic School
Growing in Faith, Knowledge and Love

With the upcoming 2007-2008 school year St. Boniface Catholic School will be entering its 130th year!  St. Boniface is an amazing gift to the families of the Waumandee Valley and surrounding communities.  St. Boniface offers a refreshing, faith centered approach to learning.  Our philosophy at St. Boniface is to educate the whole child - mind, body and soul.

St. Boniface has a learning environment, which allows each child to become a complete and successful individual.  The solid religious foundation and academic curriculum allows each student to develop and grow to be the best person he/she can be.  The academic curriculum at St. Boniface is aligned with the Wisconsin State Learning Standards.  Our classrooms are multi-age, multi-ability classrooms allowing all students to grow and learn at the pace that is best suited to a success outcome for each individual child.  Cooperative learning is a key component of our classrooms.

St. Boniface School Offers:

Where We Go and What We Do….
· Corporal & Spiritual Works of Mercy (Community Service Projects)
Our works of mercy are an important response to God’s gift of faith and life.  Therefore they comprise a very important part of the learning process at St. Boniface. Each classroom visits the Arcadia Nursing Home on a regular basis.  When at the nursing home the students enjoy spending time with the residents playing games such as BINGO and BRIDGO.  Everyone enjoys our visits to the nursing home, students and residents alike.   Our older students also volunteer at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Mission on a regular basis.

· The Pursuit of Beauty
Art and Music are critical components of a quality Catholic education.  The performing arts are a big part of St. Boniface.  December brings the annual Christmas Play that is not to be missed.  Each year it is more enjoyable.  All of the students from kindergarten to grade eight are a part of the Christmas play.  In the spring all the students prepare for the Spring Music Program and Recital.  To round out the year each class readies themselves for the Lip Sync Contest.  The Lip Sync is great family fun.  Everyone laughs the night away.  Our children are guided in their appreciation of the visual arts by quality instruction which inspires each child to rejoice in the abilities God has given them.

· Field Trips
Field trips in the spring and in the fall help us to give our learning a more practical face.  We have traveled to many wonderful places.  During the 2006-2007 school year some of the field trips we enjoyed included: Pumpkin Patch Visit and Great Harvest Bread Company, Paul Bunyan Camp and the Planetarium at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, La Crosse Children’s Museum and Petco, sight-seeing along the Mississippi River, and the Minnesota Science Museum.

· Catholic Schools Week
The last week in January is a time to celebrate the gift of Catholic Education at St. Boniface!  Catholic schools week is non-stop fun and a time to share with the community the treasure in their midst which is St. Boniface School.  We start the week with Sunday Mass celebrating Catholic schools and a pancake breakfast.  The week continues with special dress up days, an international day, a read in, shakes at the store and movie day.  In addition, we participate in the Catholic Schools Diocesan Spelling Bee and Bible Bowl.

· Extra Curricular Activities
Students at St. Boniface are involved in many different extra curricular activities through their home school districts.  During the 2006-2007 school year, students participated in band, football, volleyball, basketball and FFA.
