About Us

Woods' Edge Farm is a small "mom-and-pop" nursery which grew out of our love of nature and walking through the woods, our love of plants, and a concern for the declining numbers of plants of many woodland species due to both habitat destruction and plants being removed from the wild.

We started our nursery in the fall of 1994, when we collected and planted our first Jack-in-the-Pulpit seeds. In 1996 we built our shade structure, where all of our plants are now grown under 50, 63, or 78 percent shade. In 1998 we filled our first wholesale order, plus began retailing our plants at the Dane County Farmers' Market. From our initial offering of 12 wildflower species in 1998, we now propagate over 60 species, including a small number of native shrubs.

We strive to provide our customers with a quality product and to help them select the right plants for their wildflower gardening projects. Please feel free to contact us by e-mail if you have any questions about our plants or our nursery.
