Polar Express Pajama Party

On Thursday December 18th from 6:30 – 7:30 the Viroqua Public Library will have the annual Polar Express Pajama Party.  Just bring your pillows, wear your PJ’s, and cozy up for a reading of the magical story, The Polar Express.  After the story there will be holiday games, crafts and treats!  This is a free event for children ages 4 – 8.  All aboard….at the Viroqua Public Library!

Let the Good Shepherd Lutheran Youth Group wrap your Christmas presents. There will also be soup and sandwiches while you wait. This fund raiser is a free-will-offering and will help send the Good Shepherd Lutheran Youth Group to New Orleans for a youth gathering and work experience.  The event will take place Saturday Dec. 20th and Sunday Dec. 21st at the church on from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hope to see you there!

CMN holiday cards are a perfect way to send greetings for the season to your loved ones, while helping CMN’s mission of helping kids be kids. Sixteen-year-old Haily Klink of Winona designed this year’s winning card. The greeting inside reads, “Wishing you fun and friendship this holiday season. Happy Holidays!”

Cards are now available in packages of 20 for $7, plus tax. Proceeds will be used by CMN to help area children with special medical needs. AER scholarships available for Military Children 

Dependent  children of active, retired and deceased Soldiers are eligible to apply for the Army Emergency Relief (AER) Maj. Gen. James Ursano Scholarship Program for the 2009-2010 school year.

Applications are available on the AER Web site at http://www.aerhq.org. Applications will be due by March 1, 2009, and must include a completed application, official transcript with fall 2008 grades and cumulative GPA and documentation of the Soldier’s status, such as orders, if active duty, or casualty report, if deceased.
