Medical Demonstrations

During the Civil War, military field hospitals were set up near the battlefields to treat the wounded.  Hospitals at the Boscobel event provide state-of-the-art treatment, using the latest medicine and equipment of the 1860's.  The surgeons explain their procedures while they treat the wounded from battle.  During the Civil War, soldiers who survived a battle felt fortunate; those who survived a visit to the hospital felt it was a miracle.  These medical demonstrations are highly realistic and informative, making them very popular with spectators.
