Changing Times

Changing Times is dedicated to providing individuals and families with the skills needed to live a responsible lifestyle free from alcohol and drug abuse.  The program focuses on the traditional twelve-step philosophy of recovery through group and one-on-one therapy.  Changing Times helps those faced with the disease of alcohol and drug abuse to become more confident, productive members of society.

All Staff members at Changing Times are dedicated to the program's mission.  All counselors are certified, or registered and working toward certification, through the Wisconsin Certification Board.  In addition, Coulee Youth Centers, the supporting agency of Changing Times, is a licensed mental health and AODA clinic.

Did You Know...

...50% of highway fatalities are alcohol related?

...that it is not how much, how often or what a person drinks but how it affects his/her life that determines if they have a problem with alcohol?

...that neither coffee nor a cold shower can sober you up?  Only time can!!!

...that in El Salvador your first drunk driving offense is you last?  You are executed by a firing squad!

Changing Times realizes the needs of each individual and offers the following programs to help meet those needs:

Assessments- alcohol counselors conduct assessments for minors and adults using the DSM IV tool.  A recommendation for a course of treatment, if needed, is given at this time.
Outpatient Treatment- this is designed for those requiring a more intense form of intervention.  Group and one-on-one sessions are required.
Aftercare- after clients have completed Outpatient Treatment they graduate to phase II called Aftercare Group.
Awareness- this program is designed to help individuals discover more about his/her patterns of drug abuse and the effects it has on them.
Counseling- counseling sessions are available to anyone interested including families and spouses of an alcohol or drug abuser.
Education- these sessions are developed to teach an individual about the inherent dangers of drug abuse and the effects it had on society.
Speakers Program- qualified counselors are available to come to your school or organization to give a presentation on drug abuse.
Changing Times accepts medical assistance, private insurance, and has a generous sliding fee scale for those without health insurance.
