PROJECTS
We love the fact that we are raising animals with purpose, and that the end result of our French Angora's luxurious plucked wool is useful and beautiful apparel. Allison spends a lot of time at the spinning wheel handcrafting yarn from our raw angora wool. She is an avid crochetier, and creates garments for family members, friends, and special causes. This fall she even received some first place ribbons and special recognition at our county fair. Many people have tried to convince us to open an Etsy store or sell goods at local artisan fairs. While that is not in our plans, we occasionally have yarn or raw wool for sale. Contact us for more information regarding available fiber.

Angora fiber is hand plucked from our Angora rabbits. Every four months or so they release their coat so that we can harvest it for wool for spinning. Harvesting occurs during their natural molting and is pain free. During this process the rabbits get to come into the house and sit in our laps and get attention from the girls. Angora is known for its softness, silky texture, and flow. Good quality Angora fiber is between twelve and sixteen micrometers in diameter. 100% Angora yarns have a lot of halo and warmth. Angora's fiber structure gives it the highest heat retention and best moisture-wicking properties of any natural fiber.
Our rabbits give us fiber in many shades and colors. From Max and Flowerbell's bright white, to Shellington's Apricot, and Denim and Ruby's shades of gray. If you think you would like to purchase some raw wool for your own creations feel free to contact us to see what is available.
